Your client management, nonprofit and business development expertise as a Director of Fiscal Sponsorship & Strategic Partnerships will support our $10+ million annual Fiscal Sponsor operating budget and play a vital role in our future growth while allowing our clients to scale so that they can continue to make a real and lasting impact in the community by achieving their mission.

The Director of Fiscal Sponsorship & Strategic Partnerships will serve within the Leadership team in a hybrid position developing, guiding and implementing the overall direction of the Fiscal Sponsorship practice, while expanding the organization’s partnerships in the community. This position will be part of the overall organization’s leadership team, operate in close partnership with our Executive Management, Accounting and HR teams on both strategy and fulfillment of services, and report directly to the founder/CEO.

What You Will Do:

  • Generate new leads and drive the development of new Fiscal Sponsor Projects with specific, measurable revenue and profit targets.

  • Position Mission Edge as the go-to Fiscal Sponsor for high growth organizations.

  • Establish and grow partnerships with foundations, corporations, donors and other strategic funding and referral partners, both for the Fiscal Sponsor program and our Impact Lab.

  • Oversee the continued development of new products and services for Fiscal Sponsor projects, including the adoption of new technologies that improve the customer experience.

  • Establish and implement a strategic departmental growth plan with milestones at specific intervals (1 year, 3 years, etc.).

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan to drive the Mission Edge Fiscal Sponsor brand.

  • Participate in, present at, and lead networking at both philanthropic, corporate and fiscal sponsor-related meetings and events.

  • Foster, manage and maintain fiscal sponsor client relationships; seek opportunities to build / leverage relationships between clients and colleagues in an effort to further our brand and enhance our client experience.

  • Manage and lead the Fiscal Sponsorship employee(s) to provide support to the nonprofit’s Fiscal Sponsorship clients.

  • Set team goals, provide coaching, goals, mentorship, and assess performance.

  • Strategically grow the Fiscal Sponsorship practice expanding our reach beyond the San Diego area.

  • Collaborate on the goals and participate in guiding the overall direction of the organization as part of the participation on the company’s leadership team.

What You Will Bring:

  • Ability to speak, write and communicate clearly.

  • 5+ years of philanthropic, charitable foundation and/or non-profit experience preferred.

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a corporate, nonprofit or foundation setting.

  • Experience in building partnerships, professional networking, business development and sales.

  • Working knowledge of the Fiscal Sponsorship space, preferred.

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and reading financial reports.

  • Proven track record of generating leads, closing deals and developing new business relationships.

  • Thorough understanding of non-profit organizational structures and business models.

  • Experience with or knowledge of Non-profit organizational management best practices and unique challenges.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to fulfill the requirements of the role.

  • BA/BS strongly preferred.

What you’ll Get

As a full-time, salaried (exempt) employee, you would be eligible for:

  • Competitive compensation; the salary range for this role is $110,000-$125,000 with the potential for a discretionary bonus, subject to individual and company performance.

Additional Information: Please, only candidates local to San Diego, CA. as relocation expenses are not offered and we are looking to fill this role quickly. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as sponsorship is not available. Pre-employment background screening is required.
