Community Engagement Coordinator

Department: Managed Service Client - Operation HOPE - North County
Location: On-site

On-site in Vista, CA | Flexible 40-hour week (some evenings/weekends)

Key Responsibilities

  • 75%:

    • Volunteer Program: Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers; plan and lead days of service, track hours, maintain policies and manuals, increase volunteer retention and engagement, recognize contributions and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

    • Community Engagement: Maintain engagement database; create outreach materials; represent OHNC at events and speaking opportunities; cultivate partnerships and donor-based opportunities.

  • 25% Resource Development & Fundraising

  • Organize community fundraisers with a goal of raising at least $100,000 annually in partnership with the Development team.

    • Co-lead development of monthly newsletters

    • Lead peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.

    • Secure funding from civic organizations and local community groups.

    • Support with special events, as needed

Other duties as assigned, based on team needs.

This position is a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse.

Qualifications

  • Preferred; Bachelor of Arts or equivalent experience in communications, business, marketing, fundraising, public relations, social services, or related field.

  • Nonprofit, volunteer engagement, and fundraising experience strongly preferred; supervisory experience a plus.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, Constant Contact, Donor Snap (or similar CRM)

  • Experience with social media posting and engagement

  • Ability to lift 40 lb; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

  • Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to get to and from external events through San Diego County
