Energy Finance Specialist

Job Summary

The Energy Finance Specialist (EFS) plays a crucial role in facilitating communication and coordination between Indigenized Energy, 14 tribal communities, and the external consultants managing the project finance and budgeting activities for Solar for All (SFA) program. The EFS requires will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, basic understanding of energy finance, and the ability to effectively liaise between multiple stakeholders. The EFS will support the implementation of financial plans and models for renewable energy projects, ensuring smooth communication and alignment of goals among all parties involved.

Areas of Responsibilities

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Act as the main liaison between Indigenized Energy, tribal communities, and subcontractors, ensuring clear and effective communication and collaboration among all parties.

Information Gathering and Dissemination:

  • Collect, organize, and relay financial and project-related data from tribal communities to the subcontractor.

  • Communicate updates, requests, and inquiries from subcontractors to the appropriate tribal contacts in a timely manner.

Meeting Facilitation:

  • Coordinate and participate in meetings involving tribal communities, subcontractors, and Indigenized Energy, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed, prepared, and aligned on goals.

Document Management:

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of financial plans, reports, and all correspondence related to the SFA program for each tribal community.

Progress Tracking and Monitoring:

  • Track project timelines, key milestones, and deliverables, promptly reporting any delays or challenges to relevant stakeholders.

Financial Literacy Support:

  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of educational sessions focused on energy finance for tribal partners, working closely with subcontractors to deliver relevant, accurate information.

Reporting:

  • Compile, analyze, and assist in the preparation of regular progress reports for internal teams and the steering committee, ensuring clear and concise communication of progress and issues.

Community Engagement:

  • Help promote financing opportunities and programs within tribal communities, ensuring that processes and opportunities are communicated effectively.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative assistance to both the subcontractor and Indigenized Energy team as needed to ensure the smooth execution of the SFA program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently.

  • Basic understanding of project finance and renewable energy concepts, with a willingness to expand knowledge in these areas.

  • Experience working with diverse communities, with a preference for candidates who have experience collaborating with Native American tribes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools, particularly Excel or Google Sheets for financial tracking and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders and manage complex schedules and documentation.

  • Strong customer service, negotiation skills and ability to interact with employees and customers.

  • Self-starter with excellent time management, multitasking and organizational skills.

  • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions to existing problems.

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.

  • Enthusiastic team player who understands the dynamic of working in a matrixed organization

  • Outgoing with ability to provide excellent customer service to staff and external partners

  • Excellent critical thinker and problem solver; able to make solid judgments and decisions

Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this poisition is $70,000-$90,000 per year and is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. We have a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for full time employees including health insurance and paid time off.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: This position will require working remotely, in the field and from your home (or other suitable place). Reliable transportation and dependable internet service at your home (or place of working) is required.
