Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist

What is it that we do?

Includ(Ed) provides early intervention-focused services where all are welcome. We work in homes across the county, as well as at an inclusive childcare and clinic center, to provide holistic, play-based, relationship-centered Early Intervention therapies for children aged 0-5.

The Role:

Alongside the rest of the field therapy team, this Speech Language Pathologist would see approximately 2-10 infants and toddlers in the home to provide therapy.

Compensation: $75 per hour for in-home session, $45 per hour for classroom sessions

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of children ages birth to 3 years old in children's homes to identify specific areas of need related to speech and language delays or disorders.

  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to children in their homes.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and involve them in goal-setting and treatment planning.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for children, in collaboration with parents and other professionals.

  • Provide individualized treatment sessions, focusing on enhancing children's functional abilities in their home environments.

  • Educate and train parents or caregivers on strategies to support their child's development and address specific challenges.

  • Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and any related administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Current CA licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the

  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children with speech and language delays or disorders, preferably in an early intervention or pediatric setting.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech therapy, including but not limited to play-based therapy, parent coaching, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.

  • Knowledge of best practices in inclusive education and early childhood development.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.

  • Demonstrated understanding of individualized treatment planning and the ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse needs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with children, parents, and colleagues.

  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children of all abilities.

  • A strengths-based therapy approach, genuine belief in the power of inclusion

  • Regular access to reliable transportation.

Working Hours:

  • Approx. 3-10 hours per week providing home visits therapy to our clients

  • Make your own schedule! Mornings, afternoons, and evenings available.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

Applicants should be comfortable:

  • Standing for 2+ plus hours per day

  • Stooping, bending, climbing, and walking frequently

  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
