CAMEO Network is searching for a Full-Time, Exempt, Senior Program Manager who will execute programs and support CAMEO Network’s mission of helping grow a thriving ecosystem of support for underserved entrepreneurs. CAMEO Network is made up of over 400 organizations, agencies, and individuals dedicated to furthering microbusiness development in California and across the country. Annually, CAMEO members serve about 200,000 very small businesses with training, business and credit assistance and loans. These firms – largely start-ups with less than five employees – support or create 300,000 new jobs and generate a total of $15 billion in economic activity.
Reporting to the VP, Engagement and External Relations and serving as an integral member of the program team, the Senior Program Manager will lead activities in our Community Pillar, which includes:
- Deepen Relationships: Create opportunities for small business service providers to collaborate, connect and learn about peers’ services and specialties with in-person and online meetings, convenings, and digital community forums.
- Share Expert Information: Lead development and dissemination of industry trends and best practices through awareness-raising, industry roundtables, and coalition-building through cross-industry dialogue via roundtables and listening sessions, participation in (non-policy) community initiatives and coalitions.
- Foster Inclusion and Access: Coordinate engagement in public-private partnerships and public programs to connect providers and their clients to large-scale economic development initiatives by convening and managing participating partners; providing training and troubleshooting, marketing and outreach and impact evaluation.
General duties include producing quality programs, developing and executing on workplans, ensuring logistics, technical, clerical, and record-keeping are professional and current, building relationships with our members. Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.
Work Environment: This is a fully remote position that will require light travel a few times per year. California residency required.
Responsibilities
- Serve CAMEO Network’s entrepreneurial ecosystem support organizations through convening, collaborating, and program management.
- Engage and create new collaborative partnerships and inclusive relationships with CAMEO Network member entrepreneur support organizations.
- Lead the management and execution of key CAMEO Network programs that focus on engaging members and partners.
- Engage with CAMEO Network members to identify gaps and develop collaborative and measurable work plans to address their need.
- Convene and coordinate high quality online and in-person meetings managing logistics, presentations, engagement, and follow-up.
- Stay current on national small business trends and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Contribute to and lead conversations and activities that support entrepreneurship both directly and indirectly.
- Engage in measuring and regularly reporting outcomes in collaboration with the Impact team.
Required Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 5-7 years of related experience.
- Commitment to CAMEO Network’s mission and vision.
- Extensive and current knowledge of the industry of nonprofit organizations and microlenders who service low-income and BIPOC entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurs’ characteristics, challenges, issues, and needs.
- Leader whose motivations align with the goals of inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystems.
- Demonstrate flexibility, problem solving, perseverance, and systems thinking abilities.
- Track record of achievements that require entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly develop and grow broad and deep professional relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills that include written, verbal, digital, presentation, and meeting facilitation.
- Versatile and resourceful with a committed work ethic.
- Ability to manage concurrent priorities and projects with strong follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to own projects but able to ask for assistance when needed.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Solid organizational and planning skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Comfortable with working in a collaborative environment, as part of a team, as well as independently.
- Strong computer skills: Experience with databases (Salesforce a plus), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). CAMEO uses programs like Calendly, Zoom, Gmail, Box, Asana, LearnWorlds, EventBrite and Canva.
